the sweet & the bitter
Dear listeners,
We have made a new record. It has been a long time in the making and we’re very proud of the result. We’ve locked ourselves away for a few weeks on our boat where we built our own studio so we could do whatever we wanted, i.e. burn piano’s, scream at the sky and electrocute each other while singing. It was amazing.
We have decided to call our second album Hymns from the Blazing Flesh. It contains 13 songs and it is now yours. You may pay what you like through bandcamp (credit card & paypal accepted) or donate directly to 5696360, Stairs to Nowhere V.O.F. If enough funds are raised through album sales, there will be a physical release on vinyl.
As with most things, the sweet goes with the bitter. We have decided that with the release of this album, it is time for Stairs to Nowhere to call it a day. We’ve put a lot of ourselves into this record and for various reasons we have not been able to get everything back into our bodies again. We’ve always tried to remain true to the axiom that we’d give it everything or nothing, always. At the present time, we cannot give you everything, so you will get nothing. We sank the boat and gave away most of our stuff.

We made everything we did because we simply had to. All the amazing places we played our shows, the infamous Sinking Sessions, all the haunted factories, dizzying cranes and endless tunnels we explored and every piece of music we wrote and recorded will always be very special to us. We want to thank everyone who was or in any way felt like they were a part of that.
